CRES Sky Simulator

This was a project undertaken with Dr Nick Baker to develop a variable diffuse and sunny sky simulator for the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources in Athens.

The diffuse sky luminance is provided by 145 light sources wired in 35 dimmable channels; the sun source is wired in a separate dimmable channel. The dimmers are controlled by a PC that enables the programming of a range of sky luminance distributions.

This photograph shows the inside of the CRES Sky Simulator. This photograph shows a model within this artificial sky.
